Shri Mathuri School Of Nursing takes great care in imparting knowledge to its students. With this in mind, we have developed our facilities to cater every need of the students.
Faculty
The faculty members are well qualified, young and dynamic (Ratio 1:10). Guest lecture, workshops, Symposium and seminars are being conducted regularly by inviting eminent scholars, resourceful dignitaries and teachers who are well versed in nursing education.
Hostel and Mess
The students are provided with hostel facilities attached to college under the direct supervision of warden. Well furnished hostels for both boys and girls. The college offers food items including North, North East and South. Providing 24 hours drinking water facility around the campus.
Class Rooms
The college has also established with spacious well ventilated classrooms with modern infrastructure and also provided with sufficient number of technique aids.
Laboratories
The College has also been established with various required laboratories to teach basic skills of various nursing procedure prior and during Clinical Experience. All the laboratories are provided with adequate number of equipment and instruments, sufficient number of teaching aids like LCD projector, over head projector, slide projector, CD player, models, charts, specimens are available as audiovisual teaching aids
Nutrition Lab
The course is designed to help the students to acquire knowledge of nutrition for maintenance of optimum health of different stages of life and to know its application in nursing, there is a separate lab equipped with various models, posters, flashcards, flipcharts for nutrition education and also various Vessels and accessories to prepare different recipe according to the different kinds of food for different illness.
Anatomy/Nursing Foundation Lab
Nursing foundation course is designed to help the students to develop and understand the philosophy, objective, theories and process of nursing in various clinical setup. It helps the students to acquire knowledge, understanding and develop skill in techniques of nursing procedures and practice them in clinical settings, for which we have well equipped lab with 12 beds, mannequins for performing and practice of various nursing procedures including CPR.
Laboratories
Library equipped with more than 3000 books, 30 National & International Journals, periodicals, and access to more than 50 International Journals through HELINET consortium. Digital library with internet connection and large number of educational CD’s. The library also provided with newspapers in different languages like Kannada, Hindi, Malayalam and English. Weekly health magazines are made available. Students are encouraged to use other facilities like E-mail, internet, CD- ROM browsing and photocopying .Ample and separate reading space has been provided to both the students and faculty along with the comfortable seating arrangements.The library is open from 9 am to 5 pm on all the working days.
Community Lab
The course is designed to help the students to develop an understanding of the recent modern approach to appreciate the principle of prevention, maintenance of health and early identification of diseases.Community health team extends prevention and collaboration with members of the family and also provides space for the students to learn community bag techniques and AV Aids related to community health concern.
OBG Lab
This lab is designed for students to appreciate the concept and principles of midwifery and obstetrical nursing. It helps students to acquire knowledge and skill in rendering nursing services to normal and high risk pregnant women during antenatal and postnatal periods in hospitals. It also helps to develop skill in managing normal and high risk neonates to participate in family welfare programme. This lab provides first hand experiences in the assessment of Antenatal care, Intranatal care, Postnatal care, Neonatal assessment and demonstration of nursing care and handling problems accordingly.
Computer Lab
The computer lab designed for the students to develop basic understanding of the use of computer and its applications in nursing.
Paediatric Lab
Child health nursing course is designed to help the students to develop to understand the basics of neonatal care and its assessment and to develop the modern approach in Child Care Identification, Prevention and Nursing Management which helps them to grasp the idea of common health problems of newborn and children.
